- The beak, which ducks have in a rather distinctive and intricate design, mmaybethe trickiest portion of this drawing.
- Try to copy the reference image as closely as possible when drawing the beak for this one to capture the details. If you’re having difficulty with the beak, you could also simplify it!
- Next, draw some curved lines to represent the duck’s rounded head. Finally, draw some oval forms to represent the duck’s eyes. Next, we’ll proceed to stage 2!
2:
- Next, draw the head and torso in the front.
- The front of the neck and torso will now be added to this rubber duck drawing to complete it.
- LOurexample picture will clarify that rubber ducks typically have a vavy shape.
- The line will start below the tip and curve very sharply downward. After adding this part, move on to step 3 to finish the process.
3:
- Sketch the shape of the wings and the tail
- The third stage of our tutorial on drawing a rubber duck will now involve adding the outline of the pointed duck tail and wings.
- The rubber duck’s tail will be fairly long, and ointy, and continue to the rubber duck’s base and rounded back.
- We will employ several interconnected curved lines close to the foundation. They will be sketched in this manner to give the appearance of the feathery end of the duck wing.
- The fourth stage will begin adding to this duck once you are satisfied with its appearance. That is all there is to do for this step.
4:
- Next, add more wing detail.
- In the stage before this one, we added the outline for the rubber duck drawing’s wing; now, we’ll add some of the inner details.
- As seen in the reference picture, the inner outline of the wing will be drawn with more curved lines.
- Then, add shorter, closely spaced curved lines for additional feather features.
- Most of these feather details will go near the top of the wing, but in the following stage, we’ll add more and make a few final adjustments.
5:
- Finish up your rubber duck drawing by adding the finishing details.
- Since all the outlines have been drawn, the fifth stage of our tutorial on drawing a rubber duck will concentrate on adding minor details.
- We added curved lines to the rubber duck’s head and torso to add texture details.
- Then, we applied many smaller, rounded lines to give the wings a feathery texture.
- You could include many more details, but these are the end ones we decided on for this image! Another suggestion is to create a backdrop.
- You could choose a convenient location, like having it float in a bathtub, but there are also some fun alternatives!
- How will you complete this adorable image now that you can enjoy your creativity?
6:
- Add colour to complete your rubber duck sketch.
- In the past, rubber ducks have usually been bright yellow with a vibrant orange beak.
- This is the look we were going for in the reference picture for this rubber duck drawing. We used a range of vivid yellow hues for the duck’s torso and head.
- Adding lighter tones and white accents can give the duck a shinier texture.
- Although a rubber duck typically looks like this, it can be found in any hue you can imagine!
